togetherhood.com was an online community designed for families raising “quirky” kids—kids who struggle with invisible challenges like anxiety, adhd, dyslexia and other neuro-divergent behaviors. at the time, two of my three young children were struggling with these challenges. I met other parents like me who needed answers but didn’t know where to look or have anyone to lean on for support. I co-founded togetherhood with the intention of providing a safe space and a library of resources to help our children thrive. i learned everything i could about web design, ux, animation, content creation, and building a subscriber list from scratch. with an infinitesimal budget, we hired some engineers to build the site and found a dedicated team of content writers. i asked friends to donate their time to directing and producing our brand film. and spent four years building out all the rest — outreach, writing, social, content creation, films, and collateral. togetherhood was an all-consuming project of the heart that in the end, was unable to sustain its resources. it was a hell of a journey. and proof that scrappy can build might outcomes.
